About Us

On June 10th the Jim Gallucci Sculpture was dedicated. The piece consists of 12 bronze books that are strategically placed on the library staircase. 1,000 pounds of bronze was used for their creation. Each book is modeled after one found in the library and expanded 250%. Some of the books are open and have been engraved by hand the words on the open pages. Permission had to be acquired from the publishing companies of each book. It took eight months for Gallucci to complete the project. The sculpture was funded by the City of Mebane, the Alamance County Arts Council and local individuals through an engraved brick campaign.   Other Information:Hours : Monday-Tuesday: 9am-8pm; Wednesday-Saturday: 9am-6pm; Sunday: 2-5pm (September-May)
