To commemorate America 250, 4th grade students from across Alamance County have created original county flag designs and written accompanying essays that reflect their pride in place. They were encouraged to think about local history, culture and geography through symbolism.
Their creative work will become a lasting legacy of this historic moment, offering a meaningful snapshot of our community through the eyes of its young people. Participation allows students the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful and public-facing community project.
We are thrilled to host this special, family-friendly event at Alamance Community College and we warmly welcome all children to attend. Event flags will be posted throughout campus for easy navigation, and a campus map will be provided in advance. During the event, we will also recognize the student whose design has been selected to represent Alamance County at the statewide level.
Please join us on March 26th to congratulate these students for a job well done!
