This state historic marker represents the battle of September 1781 which took place at Quaker Thomas Lindley's mill, where over 250 soldiers on both sides were killed and wounded. Butler's Whigs failed to rescue Governor Burke from Fanning's Tories. Erected in 1939. State reference number G-21.   Admission :  Free
