The YeeHaw! River Paddle brings together paddlers of all skill levels to enjoy the Haw River as a community. Proceeds from the event support the Haw River Trail in furtherance of our “Conservation through Recreation” mission. Family & Beginners’ Paddle – 10:00am-11:30pm Check-in – 9:30am – 10:00am Behind Haw River Canoe and Kayak 6079 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Rd, Graham, NC 27253 Parking available at the mill across the road near the General Store (1735 Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Rd, Saxapahaw, NC 27340). YeeHaw! River Paddle – 9:00am-finish Check-in from 8:30am-9:00am Behind Haw River Canoe and Kayak All participants must park at B. Everett Jordan Elementary School at the ball field parking lot. We will shuttle you and your boats down to the river. 5827 Church Rd, Graham, NC 27253 Paddle Route This year’s event features two paddles, a Family & Beginners’ Paddle and the YeeHaw! River Paddle. The YeeHaw! Paddle will take place on the south stretch of river from the paddle access at Saxapahaw to the Union Bridge Paddle Acces. This 5.5-mile stretch is appropriate for beginner-intermediate paddlers, featuring a blend of flat water and class 1 rapids with beautiful views of the river and its wildlife. It will take approximately 2.5 hours to paddle this section. Outfitter contact information is available at https://www.thehaw.org/land-trail/amenities/outfitters/ . No extra rental boats will be available at the event. You must arrange ahead of time. The Family & Beginners’ Paddle route begins at Saxapahaw Lake above the dam. Participants will have an hour to paddle the flat water section and get comfortable. Boats will be provided at no cost by our sponsoring outfitters. NO personal boats, please. No walk-ups you must register in advance.
