Growing Mushrooms on Straw and Log

Join us on Saturday May 27th and experience inoculation of straw and hardwood. Participants will go home with a shiitake log and an oyster straw bag. Lunch Included. Hardwood and straw are both effective substrates for mushroom growing. They are forgiving enough to be used by the mushroom garden hobbyist and predictable enough to be scaled to a farm operation. This class will cover best practices for both log and straw inoculation. Participants will inoculate their own shiitake log and oyster straw bag to take home, along with instructions for allowing them to colonize and fruit. Purchase ticket here.
