Grab a coat and a friend, and join us (rain date of Saturday, November 24) for our annual Pumpkin Prowl, a unique way to celebrate autumn in North Carolina. From 11:00 to 11:45, decorate or carve a pumpkin as enrichment for our animals! Starting at noon, enjoy food and drinks from local vendors while the kids play autumn-inspired field games. While you're enjoying the games, taking photos, and meeting our mascots, we will decorate our animals' habitats with stuffed, scented, or painted pumpkins to celebrate the season. Starting at 1 p.m., watch as our animals discover these fascinating new items in their habitats! Have you ever wondered why we train Arthur Tiger to touch a target, or why it’s important to be able to check a wolf’s paws and ears, or what caracals like to eat for snacks? During Pumpkin Prowl, while you watch the animals explore their enrichment at your own pace, you can also learn interesting facts about how we care for our animal residents from our staff and trained handlers at the Conservators Center!
