About Us

The park has approximately 20 beautifully wooded acres along the Haw River with almost a mile of river frontage which offers spectacular views from the hiking trails and designated fishing areas. There is access to the 5-acre island with picnic areas available. For paddlers coming from upstream, available portage around the Glencoe dam will keep your trip on course. Along with its amenities the property supports statewide and local efforts to promote conservation through recreation along the Haw River. The park will extend the Haw River Trail/Mountains-to-Sea Trail by almost a mile. In Spring 2007, George and Jerrie Nall donated 2 acres of riverside property in memory of their son, Steven Keith Nall, for use as a paddle access and educational focal point of the Haw River Trail. Now Alamance County residents and visitors to the historic Glencoe Mill Village can learn about conservation and recreation opportunities on the Haw River while enjoying the river first hand. The park is owned and operated by the Alamance County Recreation and Parks Department. Park rules and regulations will be inforced by the Alamance County Sheriff's Department.
