Woodturning: The Foxfire Way & Now

Expert wood turners Jim & Rita Duxbury return this year to present a brief discussion of the first uses of wood as essential implements for family life and how early mankind and later the American pioneers perfected the craft of woodturning. The program will include demonstrations on the wood lathe, a “show and tell” of some interesting woodturnings, and the opportunity for hands on experience for the participants. Come join the fun and try your hand at woodturning! The Foxfire in Cedarock Park series is co-sponsored by Alamance Parks and Alamance County Public Libraries. The program celebrates Appalachian culture and tradition with a "then and now" look at traditional crafts, skills, and trades, with a hands-on workshop approach and expert presenters.
