Cedarock Park is a 414 acre park in the foothills of the Cane Mountain Range being one of the largest county operated parks in the state.
The name “Cedarock” came from the abundance of cedar trees and rock outcroppings. The park offers a vast opportunity for nature studies. The gentle climate and restricted preserve encourages quiet walks in a surrounding of rare wild-flowers, ferns and mosses which thrive on the slopes of Rock Creek and its tributaries.

Celebrate Cedarock! 40th Anniversary Celebration
It’s our 40th anniversary- come help us celebrate with old-time farm games, hayrides, open farm, food, and more! Stick around for Ghosts in the Park storytelling at the farm. We’ll have a campfire and marshmallows for toasting. Costumes are optional. Free & open to the public.
§ Games include pin the tail on the donkey, cow pie toss, sack race, bean bag toss, milk can toss, egg-spoon relay race, bicycle tire roll, and a ring toss.
§ Hayrides and face painting will be offered throughout the event.
§ The Garrett Farm will be open for tours throughout the event.
§ Food will be available for purchase, provided by Danny’s Café.
Stick around for our 7:00pm Ghosts in the Park storytelling to get in the Halloween spirit! This popular event is back, co-sponsored by Alamance County Public Libraries. Dr. Brian Sturm of the UNC Story Squad will share ghost stories under the stars. After some not-too-scary stories, we’ll take a break for toasting marshmallows around the campfire and enjoy hot cider before moving on to some spookier tales. Bring your own chair or blanket.
