Cedarock Park is a 414 acre park in the foothills of the Cane Mountain Range being one of the largest county operated parks in the state.
The name “Cedarock” came from the abundance of cedar trees and rock outcroppings. The park offers a vast opportunity for nature studies. The gentle climate and restricted preserve encourages quiet walks in a surrounding of rare wild-flowers, ferns and mosses which thrive on the slopes of Rock Creek and its tributaries.

Guided Hike: Cedarock Park’s Spoon Branch Trail

Park technician TJ Mumford will lead a guided hike on the Cedarock Park Spoon Branch Trail (blue trail) If you would like to join us for the hike, please meet at the Historical Farm by 9:00am. This is a 2-mile trail. All ages and fitness levels welcome. You can find a map of the Cedarock Park trail system here.

Pottery in Alamance County, a Foxfire in Cedarock Event

Join us at Cedarock Park Historical Farm for September's Foxfire in Cedarock Park event! Susan Kern, owner of Falcon Lane Pottery and a founding member of the Alamance Artisans Guild, will share the history of pottery in Alamance County. Participants will get hands-on experience as they create their own piece of pottery to take home.

Cane Pole Fishing Hole Derby

Arrive anytime, fish as long as you want! Cane poles only and we provide the worms. Anyone can fish, but the contest is for kids ages 5-12. We have prizes for winners in two age groups for the biggest and the most fish caught.

Ghosts in the Park, a Foxfire Event

Get in the Halloween spirit! Join us at the Cedarock Park Historical Farm for this year's final Foxfire in Cedarock Park event. Dr. Brian Strum of the UNC Story Squad will share not-too-scary ghost stories under the stars. Bring your own chair or blanket. Enjoy a crackling fire and roasted marshmallows while you listen. Costumes welcome (optional).
