In the fall of 1768, Governor Tryon called out North Carolina's militia to muster and protect the Orange County Superior Court, after threats made by Regulators nearly stopped the court from holding its session. This expedition to subdue the Regulator movement ended without bloodshed, but became a precursor to Tryon's second expedition in 1771, resulting in the Battle of Alamance. Militia drill, firing demonstrations, and equipment talks will be held throughout the day. This event is FREE, and will be held in conjunction with Alamance Battleground's "descendants gathering", marking 250 years since the pivotal events of 1768.
